Every year thousands of children from all over the South of England experience our fun, informative hands-on learning sessions. Our activities have been created with primary teachers and specialists to enhance children’s learning through Brighton Museums’ unique collections and buildings.

Explore our range of KS1 sessions

  • Toys – Come and explore toys from the past and today! 
  • Mary AnningMary Anning is visiting the Booth Museum from her home in Lyme Regis and is excited to welcome you into her world of fossils, dinosaurs and all things prehistoric.
  • Victorian Servants The year is 1897, and Brighton’s most famous Manor House has opened its doors to… A School for Servants!
  • A Very Special VisitThe year is 1824. King George IV is on the throne, and Lady Buzzby has been invited to a Grand Banquet at the Royal Pavilion – and she needs your help to get ready!
  • Dragon Detectives – Come and find out all about King George’s love of dragons, and dragon mythology.

Explore our range of KS2 sessions

  • Brighton in the Stone Age – Come to the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery and travel back thousands of years to explore life in Neolithic Brighton. 
  • Ancient Egypt – Travel back over 5000 years to Ancient Egypt and discover what it was like to be an embalmer!
  • The Romans in Brighton – Join us in the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery to uncover the story of Brighton in the Roman period. 
  • A Very Special Visit – The year is 1824. King George IV is on the throne, and Lady Buzzby has been invited to a Grand Banquet at the Royal Pavilion – and she needs your help to get ready!

  • WW1 Support our Troops – It is the year 1915. Ellen Thomas-Stanford is asking local schoolchildren to help her and her servants look after injured soldiers and people who had to leave their homes because of the war.
  • Murder at the Manor – It’s 1933 and staff have been busy setting up the new Stanford Museum. But a visitor has been murdered and the gardener has been arrested! Everyone is in a panic and only YOU can help!
