Join us in the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery to uncover the story of Brighton in the Roman period. Pupils will become investigative reporters writing a newspaper all about Life in Roman Brighton. Investigate the death of a local woman, uncover what life was like before the Romans, interview a local Romano British resident and get to see some Roman artefacts up close.

School sessions timings

  • 10.15-11.15am – Museum Learning Assistant led session in gallery
  • 11.15-11:30am – recommended independent time in gallery
  • 11.45am-12:45pm – Museum Learning Assistant led session in gallery
  • 12.45-1pm – recommended independent time in gallery

  3. To see similarities and differences between people across time and place
  4. To find out what Roman life was like in Brighton
  5. To use skills of analysis and persuasive argument to interpret historical evidence
  6. To complete a newspaper report
