Home Education groups at Brighton & Hove Museums

We very much welcome Home Education groups.
We run a dedicated Home Education day three times a year at the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.
We can offer bespoke sessions at all our sites for Home Education groups upon request, with a maximum of 15 children. Due to space limitations at our museum sites, we ask that a maximum of two adults accompany each child.
Please be aware that each child will need to be supervised by a parent/adult guardian throughout the entirety of your visit and session.

Tuesday 1 December 2026

A unique learning experience for home-educated children. Join us for a fun, immersive, totally hands-on afternoon at Brighton’s hidden gem, Preston Manor

1- 2.30pm VICTORIAN SERVANTS

The year is 1897 and Brighton’s most famous Manor House is looking for new servants!
By invitation of Mr Beesley, the butler, you will need to prove you are the right person for the job.

Can you show the skills needed to work in a grand Victorian home? You’ll try the real tasks of servants –

Polishing silver, making beds, grinding spices, sweeping floors, beating rugs, and much more.

It’s tough work at Preston Manor, and Mr Beesley wants cheerful, hardworking servants who don’t mind getting their hands dirty –and no complaining!
