We were honoured to meet Judy Pennington recently, the brilliant writer behind the heart-warming tale of George the Pavilion Cat.

This charming book is based on a true story that unfolded right here at the Royal Pavilion, where George the cat strolled in one fateful day and became a beloved palace cat.

Judy Pennington’s words and Julia Pannet Saxon’s beautiful illustrations brought George’s happy history to life. But what makes this story even more special is that Judy graciously gave the copyrights of the book to Brighton & Hove Museums.

On behalf of Brighton & Hove Museums, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Judy Pennington for sharing this enchanting tale with us. Your story has charmed countless visitors and brought smiles to the faces of children young and old.
