Birds, shells and other curiosities

In the Victorian era when trophy hunting was common, Edward Booth collected for the purpose of research and study.

He was an early naturalist, looking closely at British birds and how they lived in their natural habitats. The collection in his study reflects what an early naturalist might have had on display.

Picturing Mr Booth in this environment reminds us how our values have changed over time. Today, the conservation and protection of wildlife is our priority.
