Garden Greeters in the Royal Pavilion Garden

We are currently looking for 3 or 4 volunteers to be Garden Greeters for the Royal Pavilion & Brighton Museum from May until September 2025.

Volunteering as a Garden Greeter is great way to meet new friends and contribute to your community and Brighton & Hove Museums. This is an unpaid volunteering role.

As a Garden Greeter you are invited to contribute 3.5 hours p/week (with breaks) on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, from 11.30 – 3pm, in the Royal Pavilion Garden, greeting visitors and answering questions from members of the public, directing people, and giving out information.

As a volunteer working for the Garden Greeters scheme you will ideally

  • be able to be mobile and able to stand and walk around our gardens.
  • be confident to approach people.
  • learn quickly and relate what you have learnt to members of the public.
  • be reliable, on time, and flexible.
  • enjoy communicating with people.
  • be able to summarise the explain information and new events.

If you chose to participate, you would then go through an induction and receive some training by a staff member or another volunteer. You will be provided with a Garden Greeter T-Shirt, badge, and all up-to-date information about the Pavilion & Museums estate.

If you would like to express an interest

The opportunity is for one shift of 3.5 hours p/week during the summer season.
