Volunteer Opportunity: Garden Greeters

Title: Garden Greeters for Brighton & Hove Museums
Volunteers: 3 or 4
Hours: 3.5 hours p/week (with breaks)
Days: either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, from 11.30 – 3pm
Location: Royal Pavilion Garden
Time Frame: one shift of 3.5 hours p/week during the summer season
Deadline: 4 April 2025
We are currently looking for 3 or 4 volunteers to be Garden Greeters for the Royal Pavilion & Brighton Museum from May until September 2025.
Volunteering as a Garden Greeter is great way to meet new friends and contribute to your community and Brighton & Hove Museums. This is an unpaid volunteering role.
As a Garden Greeter you are invited to contribute 3.5 hours p/week (with breaks) on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, from 11.30 – 3pm, in the Royal Pavilion Garden, greeting visitors and answering questions from members of the public, directing people, and giving out information.
As a volunteer working for the Garden Greeters scheme you will ideally
- be able to be mobile and able to stand and walk around our gardens.
- be confident to approach people.
- learn quickly and relate what you have learnt to members of the public.
- be reliable, on time, and flexible.
- enjoy communicating with people.
- be able to summarise the explain information and new events.
If you chose to participate, you would then go through an induction and receive some training by a staff member or another volunteer. You will be provided with a Garden Greeter T-Shirt, badge, and all up-to-date information about the Pavilion & Museums estate.
