Title: Garden Greeter & Volunteer Guide (bite-sized talks)
Volunteers: 3 or 4
Hours: 3.5 hours per week (with breaks)
Days: either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, from 11.30 – 3pm
Location: Royal Pavilion Garden
Time Frame: one shift of 3.5 hours per week during the summer season (until September)
Deadline: 1 May 2026

We are currently looking for 3 or 4 volunteers to be Garden Greeters for the Royal Pavilion & Brighton Museum from May until September 2026.

Volunteering as a Garden Greeter is great way to meet new friends and contribute to your community and Brighton & Hove Museums. This is an unpaid volunteering role.

As a Garden Greeter you are invited to contribute 3.5 hours per week (with breaks) on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, from 11.30 – 3pm, in the Royal Pavilion Garden, greeting visitors and answering questions from members of the public, and delivering short bite-sized talks about the Royal Pavilion Garden, it’s rich history, and the ongoing Gardens Project.

As a volunteer working for the Garden Greeters scheme you will ideally

be able to be mobile and able to stand and walk around our garden.
be confident to approach people.
learn quickly and relate what you have learnt to members of the public.
be reliable, on time, and flexible.
enjoy communicating with people.
be able to summarise and explain information and new events.

If you chose to participate, you would then go through an induction and receive some training by a staff member or another volunteer. You will be provided with a Garden Greeter T-Shirt, badge, and all up-to-date information about the Pavilion & Museums estate.
