Royal Pavilion Free Day with Dragon Photo Challenge

Visitors are invited to enjoy free entry to the Royal Pavilion on Sunday 25 January as part of our Annual Free Day, with a special dragon-themed photo competition taking place throughout the day.

The competition celebrates the Royal Pavilion’s identity as a palace of dragons and looks ahead to our blockbuster 2026 exhibition, DRAGONS at the Royal Pavilion, opening on 28 March. Visitors are encouraged to photograph dragon details found throughout the Pavilion and share their images on Instagram for a chance to win prizes.

Four winners will receive either a joint membership plus one guest (worth £85) and a £50 Royal Pavilion Shop voucher. To enter, visitors need to photograph a dragon inside the Pavilion, post the image on Instagram tagging @brighton_museums, and share the post to their Instagram Story, tagging our same account again. Signage will be in place on the day with full details on how to take part.

The Annual Free Day offers a rare opportunity to explore one of Brighton’s most iconic landmarks, from its dramatic architecture to its richly decorated interiors, all at no cost for one day only.

Please note that Brighton Museum & Art Gallery is not included as part of the Royal Pavilion Free Day. A 2-for-1 entry offer is available at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery until the end of January.
