Remember Roger K Burton: A Legacy in Style (1949-2025)

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Roger K Burton. As the visionary curator behind our exhibition, The In Crowd: Mod Fashion & Style 1958-66, Roger brought a rare depth of knowledge, passion, and style to everything he touched.

A pioneer in British subcultural fashion, founder of the iconic Contemporary Wardrobe Collection, and a true Mod at heart, Roger didn’t just collect clothes, he preserved cultural memory.

His influence stretched from Quadrophenia to catwalks, from punk to modern museums.

We were honoured to work with him on our current exhibition at Brighton Museum, and his legacy will live on in every sharply tailored suit and every rebel thread.
