Preston Manor Tree Felling for Dutch Elm Disease
We are sad to announce that an Elm at Preston Manor has been diagnosed with Dutch Elm Disease (DED) and will need to be felled.
The young elm tree is located at the Preston Manor drive entrance and was diagnosed, identified & confirmed by the Brighton & Hove City Council Arboriculture team.
The disease is characterised by branch die back and leaf colour change.
The infected tree is one of three elms next to each other, and although it is not an old and mature tree, it’s important to remove it as soon as possible to limit the spread of the disease to other notable trees in the area.
The elm has been scheduled for removal Friday 22nd August. During this time, entry to the Manor via Preston Drove will still be possible.
