Power to the People! Young people from Allsorts make protest art at Brighton Museum

It’s always a pleasure to welcome young people from Allsorts Youth Project to the Museum. This time it was to create protest art, which was taken to Trans Pride last weekend.

Taking part in our brand new community session – Power to the People – the group explored Brighton’s long history of protest and activism, from Minnie Turner’s suffragette guesthouse to the history of Pride.

Inspired by our activism related objects, the young people discussed the power of protest art, and of coming together to make change. Then it was time to get creative and make some fantastic, empowering banners on their own, to stand out in the crowd.

Thank you so much, they all enjoyed it. Sam was brilliant and really supported the young people to engage and built a great energy
