How gifts have helped

Over the years, people have very generously left gifts large and small which have made a huge difference to the museum’s work and have enabled our collection to grow.

Professor Julian Crampton was the former Chair of the Royal Pavilion & Museums Foundation. He was instrumental in working to set up Brighton & Hove Museums as an independent charity, to ensure the long-term sustainability of the museums. As Vice Chair of Brighton University, he was passionate about education and staff development. When he died, he generously left a legacy to the museums which is dedicated to supporting the training and development of our staff. To date, staff have benefitted through attendance at sector conferences, training courses and via a development programme for our front of house staff to provide amazing customer services for all our visitors.
