In this two-day practical workshop, you will learn the basics of creating three-dimensional shapes in willow. Create a willow structure, cover it with lantern paper, and decorate it, creating your own animal sculpture to take away.
Willow is a versatile, lightweight medium, ideal for sculpture, modelmaking, prop making, theatre sets, festivals, parades, lanterns, puppets and community arts and much more.

This workshop is aimed at creative young people, interested in getting hands on experience in a different medium and expanding their portfolios. No experience necessary. All tools and materials provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
Sarah Harris is a community artist, designing and running creative workshops for children, adults, families and community groups.
She has a background in jewellery, puppets, textiles and a love of creative problem solving, quirky animation, tiny festivals, puppet shows, outsider art, seagulls, art dolls and a weakness for beautiful books, sari fabric and charity shops.
Projects include children, family, school, & community workshops and events for Samesky, Brighton & Hove Museums, Elysium, Sussex Medical School, Norwich Puppet Theatre, Sikhs of Sussex, Centre pieces and many other community organisations.
She has also had the absolute joy of walkabout puppeteering at National Trust and parade events.
