Shot during the 3 June 2020 protest, Jade Hylton’s photo series offers a defiant counter-narrative to the commodification of Black struggle. As a Mixed Black British photographer and creative, Jade not only captures but curates each frame with care. Her series demands we reconsider who is allowed to tell our stories—and who profits from them. In foregrounding truth, dignity, and self-representation, Jade’s work becomes an act of radical authorship. It affirms that presence is power, and storytelling is a right, not a privilege.
