Placards from the Streets – Andi Z Baydur
Tattoo artist and illustrator Andi Z Baydur created these placards during the 2020 protests. Their raw immediacy and creative diversity speak to the urgency of that summer. One placard is intricately poetic, the other bold and direct—both embody the essence of protest art. Captured here in photographs, these signs are a reminder of how Black and marginalised communities turn pain into expression, and resistance into art. They are echoes of voices raised, painted in cardboard and carried through the streets.
