Brighton & Hove Museums and Fabrica Gallery – Earth Day 2023

Local artist Helen Goodwin from Fabrica Gallery in Brighton and our Head Gardener Rob Boyle have teamed up to help provide natural materials from Brighton & Hove Museum gardens for use in children’s craft sessions this Easter.
The aim is to both highlight Earth Day on 22 April and have fun with children and their families, creating insects from local materials that don’t use plastic.
Helen Goodwin adds
“ Chomp is a gentle, creative session aimed at children that are entitled to free school meals during term time, but is open to any low-income family experiencing social isolation or financial difficulties during school holidays.”
Rob and Helen collected Pampas grass plumes and black bamboo from Preston Manor’s walled garden and striking bright red Dogwood stems from the Royal Pavilion Garden – all dramatic raw materials for building an awesome multi-coloured insect!
