From Downton Abbey to Preston Manor

We have just announced something special for this autumn at Preston Manor. Downton by the Sea: An Edwardian Weekend will run from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September 2025, 10am to 4pm daily (admission applies).
Timed to celebrate the release of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in cinemas, this special weekend invites you to step into the glamour and drama of Edwardian life right here in Brighton.
Did you know the visitor experience at Preston Manor was originally inspired by the very first episode of Downton Abbey? Just like the series, it begins in the days after the Titanic tragedy, setting the stage for a world on the brink of change. While Preston Manor was not a filming location, its grand drawing rooms and bustling servants’ quarters make it the perfect place to relive the spirit of Downton.
What’s On
Across the weekend, you can enjoy:
- Exclusive Guided Tours – From Downton to Preston: The Upstairs Downstairs lives of the Edwardian elite (11am and 2pm, Saturday and Sunday, free but booking required)

- A special selfie spot for any aspiring Lady Mary or Lady Ellen
- Café Rust treats with a period twist
