Contract: Fixed term for 9 months, maternity cover
Salary: £26,873 – £28,770
Reports to:Buying & Merchandising Manager
Location: All sites across Brighton & Hove Museums portfolio

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail buyer to join Brighton & Hove Museums Enterprise team, and to be associated with one the UK’s most iconic heritage sites as well as the Trust’s extraordinary portfolio of museums and their collections.

Reporting to the Buying & Merchandising Manager, the Buying Assistant will be responsible for monitoring and replenishing stock levels across all B&HM sites, assisting with researching new products, ensuring accurate records are maintained on the stock control system and dealing with administration and enquiries related to retail. This role will also take the lead on managing our e-commerce platform, expanding the product selection and ensuring best practice for the online customer journey.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of retail, stock control and visual merchandising.
  • A commitment to maintaining high levels of display and merchandising standards in public spaces.
  • Experience of working as part of a customer facing team.
  • Experience of e-commerce administration and integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with people on all levels, both inside and outside the organisation.

Please note that this role does not meet the requirement for the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Points based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the right to work in the UK.
