The Speaker
Dr David Bomford was Chair of Conservation and Head of European Art at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He is highly respected for his experience and expert knowledge of both practical conservation and Art History. During nearly 40 years at the National Gallery as Senior Restorer, he worked on numerous Rembrandts as well as many other masterworks of Western art. He then went to the J P Getty Museum in Los Angeles where he took up post as Associate Director of Collections, moving into the role of Acting Director of the museum. He has also worked as Consultant to the Director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
