Hosting the first Cancer Culture Club
Today (4 February) is World Cancer Day and Cancer Culture Club supports all the gallery goers, theatre buffs, music fans, film fanatics, and heritage lovers who happen to be affected by cancer.
Last week we had the honour of hosting our first Cancer Culture Club event in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care and we were privileged to share this space with them.

Guests enjoyed a private tour of the Royal Pavilion, taking in its spectacular, provocative, and lavish interiors before we opened to the public. There was time to chat over tea and biscuits, creating a warm and welcoming space where people could connect, share experiences, and enjoy the beauty of Brighton’s history.
The Macmillan team also loved it, saying there was huge demand for the event, it was at least twice over-subscribed. A few guests came from outside of Brighton, including; Hailsham, Seaford, Worthing, Glynde, Lewes, and Portslade.
Get in touch
We would love to see more cultural spaces across Sussex get involved. If you are part of a museum, gallery, or arts organisation, please reach out to Cancer Culture Club to learn how you can support this important work. If you or someone you know is affected by cancer and would like to join a future event, contact them for more details at the Macmillan Horizon Centre in Brighton or follow @cancercultureclub.
1 in 2 people get cancer, here’s how the other half live. Keep in touch with quality culture, it can be a lifeline.
Thank you
A huge thank you to Cancer Culture Club, Macmillan Cancer Care, and the Horizon Centre for making this happen, and to everyone who has given their time, energy, and enthusiasm to such a brilliant initiative.
