This exhibition was held in Brighton Museum & Art Gallery in 2016.

You can learn more about the display and its wider themes at the Ocean Blues project website.

The oceans are home to more than half of all life on earth, cover 70% of the earth’s surface and have supported life for millions of years, but the last century has seen the oceans devastated with the invention of plastics and industrialised methods of fishing.

From marine conservation zones to changes in fishing, and recycling programmes, we are now beginning to change the way we treat the seas. This display looks at some of the threats to life in the oceans as well as initiatives designed to reduce or reverse the impact modern society has had on this precious environment.
