This is a legacy story from an earlier version of our website. It may contain some formatting issues and broken links.

The 18th January is the anniversary of the death of one of England’s foremost writers, Rudyard Kipling (30 December 1865 – 18 January 1936)

In 1897 Kipling moved to Rottingdean, where he lived until he relocated to the more rural Bateman’s in 1902.

A series of postcards illustrate his house in the village.
