Mid-Century Millennial
Hove Museum of Creativity

Between 1940-1970 a design trend of ‘mid-century modernism’ took hold across the globe, from Brazil to Mexico – to Italy and Norway; architecture, furniture, industrial design and homeware conformed to a sleek modern design aesthetic. With the coming of age of the millennial generation, as they rent and buy property and design interiors to their own tastes – the fascination with 20th century modernism has returned. This talk explores what makes us look back, why certain design trends take hold, and what they might tell us about tastes in the future.
