‘Upstairs Downstairs’ Tour
Available all year
Duration 1 hour
During the Indian summer of Britain just before the First World War, the Stanford family was living at Preston Manor with their 15 servants. The house remains as if they were still there. This tour will immerse you into the intimacy of a wealthy Edwardian family.
Available in easy English, French and German and as a costumed tour

Ghost Tour
Available all year
Duration 1 hour
Preston Manor is famously haunted. The family living in the house in the 1890s saw the ghost of a White Lady and held séances to try to contact her. This tour examines historical evidence and includes the most-recent ghostly sightings.
Available in English, French and as a costumed tour

Dear Departed Dogs
Available all year
Duration 1 hour
See a rare example of a Victorian pet cemetery and hear the remarkable stories of family dogs both through their last resting place and through photographs and portraits of the pets and their owners in the house.

Edwardian Gardens
Duration 1 hour
In the year 2000 Preston Manor’s walled garden underwent a major make-over to restore the site to its Edwardian splendour. The garden is now mature and a fine example of ‘Queen Anne revival’ planting. The tour includes the walled kitchen garden not open to the general public.
Available in English and French

Servants’ Secrets

Domestic service changed dramatically after the First World War. This tour looks at the lives of Preston Manor’s servants in the 1920s and includes testimonials, photographs and recently researched stories and secrets of the hard-working people who kept the Manor functioning.
