Job Title: Finance & Administrative Assistant
Contract: Permanent contract, 37 hours per week
Salary: £25,979 – £26,421
Location: All sites across Brighton & Hove Museums portfolio
Responsible to: Executive Team Manager / Head of Finance
Closing date: 5pm, Friday 1st December 2023

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Administrative Assistant to join the team at Brighton & Hove Museums.

We are a well-known, established charitable organisation in Brighton and cover multiple locations across the City with some truly mesmerising sites, including the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.

The successful applicant will provide support to all departments across B&HM and support the work of the Executive Support Officer and Head of Finance.

Key Duties:

The role will include providing general administrative support across the organisation, making diary and travel arrangements, arranging and supporting meetings and dealing with general enquiries on behalf of the Executive Team Manager.

The successful candidate will also assist the Head of Finance with cash handling and general duties within the Finance department.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have relevant professional training (equivalent to NVQ Level 3) or previous experience within a similar role.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work accurately within prescribed deadlines.
  • A methodical and logical approach with a good attention to detail.
  • Effective problem solving skills and the tenacity to see issues through to completion.
  • Outstanding administrative skills i.e., ability to accurately maintain records and systems, designing and maintaining new systems as necessary.
  • ICT skills including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases.
