An illustrated talk about Hove Civic Society’s initiative to bring Hove heritage alive by refreshing and renewing Hove Heritage interpretation boards.
Hove has a fascinating heritage and history, much of which is not widely known. In the 1990s Hove Borough Council initiated the installation of ‘Hove Heritage’ interpretation boards at strategic locations. After 30 years’ service, the text and design of the boards now feels worn and dated – unlikely to stimulate interest in local heritage or engender any sense of civic pride and belonging.
In response to this challenge, Hove Civic Society has initiated a project to refresh and redesign the content and graphics of the Hove Heritage interpretation boards and restore the weathered stands. Initial work has involved Hove Museum and local historians in developing new content.
Join us to hear about the work done so far and get a glimpse of some of the stories about Hove that we want to share.
