Sunday 11 September
10am – 2pm, drop in
Suitable for all ages
Discover objects from Brighton Museum’s collections relating to Brighton’s own ‘Astounding Inventions.’ Chat with curators and collections assistants and make your own message in “Moon’s Reading System for the Blind”.
Brighton has always been a hot-bed for quirky, innovative and game-changing inventions, from Magnus Volks electrifying Brighton, to pioneers of cinema and so much in between.
To celebrate Brighton and Hove’s very own Astounding Inventions, take a trip to Brighton Museum and Art Gallery’s MuseumLab discovery day to have an opportunity to get up close with objects from the archives and collection! Chat with curators and collections assistants, learn about Brighton’s inventing history, and write your name or a message in ‘Moon’s Reading System for the Blind’!
Suitable for all ages, but younger children must be supervised around our objects on display. Brighton Museum and Art Gallery is free for Brighton residents, so can drop-in. Non-residents may book through Eventbrite to have their entry to the museum waivered. The room and Brighton Museum as a whole is accessible for prams and wheelchairs.
Visitors may still be charged entry to the museum without a valid Eventbrite booking.
