Are you a vintage clothing lover and collector? Bring along two of your favourite pieces of vintage clothing for textile conservator Zenzie Tinker to examine and advise on how to care for them. Zenzie runs one of the largest textile conservation studios in the country and her team led on the conservation and display of the clothes in the Lee Miller: Dressed exhibition. Drawing on her breadth of experience, Zenzie will also give a 45-minute talk looking at some of the most common challenges faced when storing and caring for your precious clothing, illustrated with examples of incredible costume items conserved in her studio over the years. As well as discovering more about how to care for and repair your own individual pieces, you’ll benefit and learn from seeing what other participants have brought in.
