Two digital resources for schools exploring identity and portraiture.

The Art Detective packs look at the question ‘who are you?’ in relation to a painting that hangs in Hove Library: a childhood portrait of Viscountess Frances Wolesley.
The Investigating a Portrait resource suggests some questions that children can ask of a portrait like this. The Archive resource provides historical information about Frances Wolesely and copies of original sources.
A hi-res version of the portrait can be downloaded for free from our Digital Media Bank.
This resource was created by Su Hepburn, Senior Learning Officer, as part of an Understanding British Portraits Professional Fellowship. You can read more about Su’s experience in creating and testing this resource in this blog post.
