Brighton News Story – 1 December, 1806: Bell’s ringing as Prince returns to Brighton

The inhabitants of this town, including all ranks and descriptions, felt the highest gratification, at the Prince’s return to his Pavilion, yesterday se’nnight.  His Royal Highness arrived in his barouche, accompagnied by Major Bloomfield, about six in the evening, when the bells were immediately set a-ringing, and such other marks of respect and attention shown on this pleasing occasion as must ever await his Royal presence, in a place so eminently distinguished as Brighton is, under his dignified, steady and inestimable patronage.
