Brighton News Story — 28 April, 1794: His Royal Highness’s band of musicians

Yesterday se’nnight the Prince of Wales, accompanied by Mrs Fitzherbert, and several gentlemen of his suite, arrived at Brighton.  The next day the town is enlived by His Royal Highness’s band of musicians, who performed before the Pavilion, a variety of new and favourite pieces, accompanied by an augmentation of four concert drums, which produced a very grand and novel effect, and afforded extraordinary gratification to a great number of persons assembled on that occasion.
