Brighton News Story — 25 February 1811: Brighton the envy of other “watering places”

The Prince Regent has signified his intention of receiving, in person, the Address lately voted at a public meeting, held at the Old Ship Tavern, in this town. This particular condescension on the part of his Royal Highness, must be extremely flattering to the inhabitants of Brighton, as it stamps on their town, additional consequence, that must be envied by every other watering place in the kingdom.
