The city of Brighton & Hove lies within a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known as The Living Coast.

Alongside 3 other Biosphere Reserves in England and France, The Living Coast is taking part in an EU-funded Interreg Channel project on BioCultural Heritage Tourism.
