Ben Rivers: Ah, Liberty!
During CINECITY 13 to 29 November
Temporary exhibition galleries
Free with Brighton Museum admission, members and residents free
This special screening, during Brighton film festival CINECITY, celebrates our new acquisition of the artist Ben Rivers’s 16mm film Ah, Liberty!. Moving between documentary and fiction, and shot on 16mm film, a medium which is fast becoming obsolete, Rivers’s films offer a glimpse into the lives of people existing at the margins of society.
The works, including Origins of the Species (2008) which is not on show, were acquired through The Contemporary Art Society Collections Fund, 2014 as a joint acquisition with Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.
