Natural History Specimen Loans
Update 26 March 2020: while our all our museums are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak we cannot loan any new specimens or accept any returns. Loans should be returned when our museums re-open. You will not be charged any overdue fees for items currently on loan.
The Booth specimen loans service runs as a drop-in (first come, first served) on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, 2-4:30pm.
Returning loans are now only accepted back during the loans service operating times.
Items cost £5 – 15 per object (depending on size and rarity) to loan for periods of 1 month at a time. There is a one week grace period from the return date listed on your form before an additional rental charge will be required.
Please bring with you a form of photographic ID with your address or school/organisation’s address on it, along with either a letter on headed paper stating that the organisation will cover loss or damage, or a cash deposit of £150 – £200 (Borrowers leaving a cash deposit can only borrow a maximum of 3 items)
For further enquiries please contact Grace Brindle or Kerrie Curzon, on 01273 292777.
