In October 2018, Brighton & Hove City Council’s Policy, Resources and Growth Committee agreed that the Royal Pavilion and Museums service should transfer to a single charitable trust whose sole purpose is to deliver the Council’s museums and heritage services.
In June 2019, it was agreed that the existing Royal Pavilion and Museums Foundation will act as the ‘vehicle’ for the new trust, the Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust. To do this, the Trust is making changes to its constitution and recruiting new trustees to its board in order to ensure it has the necessary skills, experience and diversity to govern the Royal Pavilion and Museums.
