Permanent contract, full time (37 hours per week).

Salary – £37,568 – £40,578 (Scale M10)

Closing date: 26 June 2022 (11.59pm)

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the newly formed, independent Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust (RPMT). The new role of Head of Diversity and Inclusion will lead on our Culture Change programme across RPMT. This isn’t an HR role, this is about how we look at everything we do through the lens of diversity and inclusion, across our five museums, three gardens, our collections, programming and staff to promote holistic organisational change around diversity and inclusion.

About the role

We are looking for someone who relishes a challenge and wants to change the way museums reflect society. The successful candidate will lead on embedding and amplifying diversity, equality and social justice into RPMT’s core operational principles and strategic aims, with the full help and support of the RPMT leadership team. You will champion new ways of engaging with visitors and communities, promoting contested heritage and working with colleagues to ensure that diversity and inclusion becomes a golden thread throughout RPMT’s work.

You will be the principal external contact for our Culture Change programme, working with colleagues on projects and through matrix management. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a part in our work to deliver our mission and long-term strategic goals. The RPMT Culture Change programme is generously supported by the James Henry Green Trust.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We actively welcome applications from people who reflect the diversity of the country to help us shape and change the museum sector to make it more relevant to the diversity of the people, communities and places we serve.

For further information or, if you would like to have an informal conversation about this role, please contact Ceryl Evans, Director of Engagement and Public Programmes: ceryl.evans@rpmt.org.uk.
