This postcard shows Indian soldiers seated in an open top bus. The text painted on the side of the bus reads; 'From East to West for the Motherland.' The image was taken in front of the Queen Victoria statue on Grand Avenue, Hove. The Royal Pavilion and the Kitchener Hospital, Brighton acted as military hospitals for wounded Indian soldiers from 1914 until 1916.
