Group of wounded Indians & their English friends on the Racehill

This postcard shows a group of Indian soldiers and local children, gathered on Race Hill, Brighton. This photograph would have been taken when soldiers were allowed to walk outside the Kitchener Hospital in Elm Grove, Brighton. The Royal Pavilion and The Kitchener Hospital in Elm Grove, Brighton, acted as a military hospitals for wounded Indian soldiers from December 1914 until early 1916.
