This cabinet, "Fontane", was designed by Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann around 1924 and made in his own workshops. It is made with amboyna wood veneer with ivory-capped feet and escutcheons. Ruhlmann's furniture was made by a team of expert craftsmen. Designs like this cabinet were simple, elegant and discreetly decorated. A very similar example to this was shown at the Paris International Exhibition of 1925.
