Plate

This porcelain plate has an irregular fluted rim. It is painted with a view of Newhaven Harbour with cliffs behind and rows of cottages in front. Newhaven is where the collector and Brighton Museum founder Henry Willett lived as a child. The tide mills shown on this plate belonged to his family. The plate is part of the Professions & Trades theme in the Willett Collection of Popular Pottery.
